The faces of love are quite diversified and sustains all good things. Love unites people to live harmoniously and is the greatest creative force with which man is endowed. Loving calls for unblemished hearts that are pure and sincere. We sense this when the people that love and are in love display joyful hearts. Their hearts light up with joy that express much faithfulness. This is the foundation of authentic love. An early Christian theologian, philosopher and bishop Saint Augustine (354 – 430) described faith that is touched by love this way, “ Faith is to believe what you do not see; the rewards of this faith is to see what you believe.”

Evangelistic Love

Evangelistic love is one of friendship. It is the light that shines brightly for those we encounter. This flame fills our heart and touches souls. It must be this way because it is the expression of God's deep love for us. Believers that project this type of love believe in heaven with all their heart. For they have discovered the full meaning of truthful love of all things. Saints proselytize and become older as they grow in such form of loving. In their encounter with people in our societies a communion of love develops that becomes one that is centered on Christ. This is through loving and helping the poor and the needy in our midst. Such recipients of love find themselves with new hearts as they encounter the living Christ. Older and matured saints have humble hearts and their actions are based on a leap of faith. It was a Roman Catholic religious sister and Noble Prize winner Mother Teresa (1910 -1997) that remarked, “Let us touch the dying, the poor, the lonely and the unwanted according to the graces we have received and let us not be ashamed or slow to do the humble work.”

Communication of Love

Let us plan on loving the right way. Flowing within and from us will be love in all its mystery that reaches out to all. Such love is the greatest when it displays a real transformation in our families, neighbors, friends and those we encounter on the highways and byways of life, where we declare a heart full of peaceable love. It is this sort of caring love that emanates by being with others we love sincerely. Such is the depth of love that we must hold up like a burning torch in our daily walk with Christ, while forming relationships that encourage the rejected. Such a communication of love is activated through the light of faith. Mahatma Gandhi (1869 – 1948) leader of Indian independence movement in British-ruled India, observed a negative that might exist in our communication of love, “It has always been a mystery to me how men can feel themselves honored by the humiliation of their fellow beings.”

Love of Life

Oscar Wilde (1854 – 1900) an Irish author, playwright and poet remarked, “Keep love in your heart. A life without it is like a sunless garden when the flowers are dead.” Engrossment in self love that does not extend itself to others is not good. Such a love is very well a disorderly sort of love. Love ought to be steadfast promoting what is best in the world by touching those that feel unloved and isolated. We must love all our brothers and sisters showing them that we really have their best interest at heart. This is a basic concept for all creation. We know it when our hearts burn while reaching out to the elderly and young alike. Thus, there is no time to nurture hardened hearts that are filled with the disillusion. Our goal must be to profess love from the warmness of our hearts. Let your hearts be like that described by Morihei Ueshiba (1883 – 1969) a Japanese artist and founder of the martial art of aikido that believed, “Your heart is full of fertile seeds, waiting to sprout.” Such sprouts will be living expressions seeking all the goods things in life  of which we have been blessed.

These noted ingredients are the faces of love that are sending and touching all things in its path. Such is the profundity of love that could only be found in Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior and in the workings of the Holy Spirit.
